The Service Dog That Inspired a Mission

Meet Lizzy Mae Klint, a beloved member of both the Klint family and the Red Ink Hope family.

Born on September 26, 2021, Lizzy joined our family shortly after Thanksgiving and quickly became an important part of our lives. She was immediately welcomed by our two rescue dogs, and together the three formed a close-knit pack of sisters. Watching their bond grow has been a tremendous blessing for our family.

While Lizzy is a cherished family companion, she was brought into our lives for a much larger purpose: to become a working service dog.

For many years, Gary has lived with the effects of a traumatic eye injury and the chronic pain that followed. Daily activities that many people take for granted can often be challenging, exhausting, or overwhelming. As Gary's medical journey continued, it became clear that a service dog could provide companionship, support, confidence, and assistance in navigating those difficult moments.

Lizzy began her service dog training at a young age and has spent countless hours learning the skills, behaviors, and discipline required to support Gary's unique needs. Throughout the training process, she has demonstrated an incredible eagerness to learn, a gentle temperament, and an unwavering desire to be at Gary's side.

As Lizzy's training progressed, Gary developed a deep appreciation for the profound impact that well-trained dogs can have on people's lives. He witnessed firsthand how proper training builds trust, strengthens communication, increases confidence, and creates remarkable partnerships between dogs and their handlers.

That experience became the inspiration for Hopeful K9 Training by Klint.

What began as a journey to train a service dog evolved into a passion for helping other families build stronger relationships with their dogs. Through positive reinforcement, patience, and relationship-based training, Hopeful K9 Training seeks to help dogs become confident, well-mannered companions while empowering owners with the knowledge and tools needed for success.

Today, Lizzy serves as both a loyal companion and a reminder of the mission behind our work. Her journey reflects the values that guide both Red Ink Hope and Hopeful K9 Training: perseverance, faith, compassion, dedication, and hope.
