COVID Vaccine

Chronic pain and the COVID vaccine.  To begin I am not a health care professional, this is my own experience and thoughts.  I received the first Pfizer COVID vaccine two weeks ago.  I have not experienced any adverse side effects from the vaccine except for a sore shoulder for a day or two, nothing earth shattering.

I feel that as a nation everyone should be getting the vaccine.  One could even consider it a patriotic act to get the vaccine to help our nation begin to heal from this pandemic.  As for myself, one who suffers from Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), I have enough dealing with my pain on a daily basis that I want to do everything I can to prevent getting sick with anything else.

As with this continuing pandemic, my own depression has increased as the past and this year roll along.  I go through ups and downs with dealing with my daily pain, however, with this pandemic, like many people, it has been a very challenging time.  If anyone reading this blog, it is crucial to speak to someone, a medical professional about negative thoughts you may be having.   Keeping your thoughts hidden and to yourself will only continue to eat at your spirit and put your health and possible life at risk.  To close this blog, if you think you are a risk to yourself or others, please give the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline a call, (800) 273-8255.
